Hi, I’m Dea, and I’d like to welcome you to Dea’s Place!

I know how important it is to feel a genuine connection with the person caring for your child, so I’d love to take a moment to tell you a little about myself.

​

I’m a Nova Scotia gal with a big heart and a lifelong love for family and children. Before becoming an Early Childhood Educator, I was building a career with Sobeys. But when I found out I was pregnant with my son, Alex, my priorities shifted. I knew I wanted to create the best possible life for him while also finding meaningful work that allowed me to be present during those important early years.

That decision led me to Early Childhood Education. While navigating motherhood and work, I earned my diploma and began an entirely new journey—one that allowed me to spend those precious early years with my son while also opening my heart and home to other young children.

Over the years, I’ve continued to expand my knowledge, experience, and education so I can provide the highest quality of care possible.

 

Professional growth remains very important to me, and I continue to attend yearly conferences and in-person training alongside fellow Early Childhood Educators.

What began as a decision I made for my own little boy grew into a career and passion that has become such an important part of who I am.
